Dr. Sibichan K Mathew is Professor of Fashion Management Studies and the Head of Academic Affairs at National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Head Office. He holds doctoral degree and Master degrees in Economics and Business Administration. He has authored a series of text books for International Trade Centre (ITC), Geneva on “International Purchasing & Supply Chain Management”.
He holds a certificate in Fashion Management from the School of Fashion Management and Design, Amsterdam. He has also undertaken customised training in the area of retail research at the Centre for Retail Research, Zoetermeer, Netherlands and CESCOM, Milan, Italy. He had been with the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), New York, and Institute for Retail Studies, Glasgow, Scotland studying the retail environment of Europe. He has many publications to his credit.
He is the Principal Coordinator of United-States India Educational Foundation lndo – U.S. 21 51 Century Knowledge Initiative Grant Program (formerly known as the Obama-Singh 21 51 Century Knowledge Initiative) from NIFT titled “A multi-dimensional Approach to meet 21st century Retailing Education and Industry challenges for India and the US.
He has held the responsibility of Chairperson of the Department of Fashion Management Studies during 2007-2011 and Head of Industry and Alumni Affairs 2011-2014.
