SIBICHAN MATHEW
Dr. Sibichan K Mathew is Professor of Fashion Management Studies at National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), New Delhi, India. Post completion of doctoral degree and Master degrees in Economics and Business Administration, he pursued higher specialized education in Fashion Management from the School of Fashion Management and Design, Amsterdam and customised training in the area of retail research at the Centre for Retail Research, Zoetermeer, Netherlands and CESCOM, Milan, Italy. After serving University of Delhi, he joined NIFT and handled various academic and administrative responsibilities including Chairperson of the Department of Fashion Management Studies, Head of Industry and Alumni Affairs, Head Academic Affairs and Director-in-charge of NIFT Kangra Campus. He has been selected by the International Relations Committee of International Textile and Apparel Association (ITAA), USA for receiving Janet Else Visiting Scholar/Practitioner Award for the year 2021. This award is in recognition of his able leadership from the Indian side of a 3 year India-US collaborating research project funded by USIEF involving multi-educational institutes based in USA and NIFT. At present he leading the administration of a R&D project sponsored by the Ministry of textiles for developing an indigenous AI/ML enabled fashion forecasting system.
