Gopal Naik is a Science Graduate and Post Graduate in Law from Dept. of Law, University of Mumbai with extensive experience over 35 yrs. primarily in Corporate Legal Functions, Real Estate, Labour Laws, statutory compliance and Retail Business Development. Prior to joining Aditya Birla Group (Aditya Birla Retail Ltd was acquired by Witzig Advisory Services Private Limited with effect from 28th March 2019. Consequently, Aditya Birla Retail Limited is now renamed as More Retail Limited) he was associated with Bharat Petroleum and Reliance Industries Ltd in senior positions and played strategic and key role in setting up Retail Outlets along with ensuring regulatory compliances. He is also Chairperson of Retail Industry Association (RAI) besides association with various industry bodies. He is a key speaker on various platforms related to Retail and Labour laws. He is known for his immense contribution in the Retail Industry and was nationally and internationally accoladed for his and team’s outstanding contribution to the industry. Among many honours and awards to his credit to name a few are that he received National IP Award organized by Ministry of Commerce & Industry at the hands of Ms ‘Nirmala Sitharaman then Minister of Commerce & Industry in the year 2015, as General Counsel of the year from Idex Legal Award, India Legal Awards, Asia Law Awards and RAI . He has been actively involved in representing Retailer’s voice before various Gov. & other Agencies. He is also Visiting Faculty in the subject matter (Law) in Leading Business Schools.
